  Marcee Ben-Menachem, M.Ed.
A classroom teacher and Autism therapist since 1998, April has extensive experience working with children with exceptional needs. She has taught in the private, public and international sectors. April’s understanding of general education, special education and inclusive classrooms has enabled her to create successful learning environments for all children. She has a keen interest in helping children develop the social skills that will enable them to be more successful both in the classroom and in life. April holds a Bachelor’s in General Education, a Master’s in Special Education, and is currently a fifth grade teacher in the Lake Washington School District. She was also invited to a global conference to present her research findings on the importance of learning social skills at an early age.
 
A child behavior specialist and counselor since 1999, Marcee has a special interest & experience in helping children with learning disabilities, behavioral issues, and social/emotional challenges. She has worked in social services with high-risk youth and  their families, served as Program Director for Choices (a social-skills and anger-management program for at-risk youth) through LDA, and worked as a Behavior Intervention Specialist for elementary schools. She holds a Bachelor’s in Sociology, a Master’s in Education/ Counseling and is currently an elementary school counselor in the Lake Washington School District. She has spoken at many events, including the ADHD Resources Conference and the Washington School Counselors Association Conference.
